Name Calling, Freedom of Speech, and other Stuff

I was under the weather for a while and with too much time on my hands. Should I be concerned when many of the visits to my obscure webpage come via search engines? I feel stalked. I followed the trail of some search links just to see what turned up. Whoo boy, I sure get a good cussing out in some forums. I’m learning that it doesn’t matter what’s said as much as it does who says it or why they said it.

We’ve heard our military described as Nazis, gulag proprietors, Pol Pot killers, torturers, cold-blooded murders, terrorists and uneducated reluctant warriors who would choose to be elsewhere given a choice. All of it coming from the mouths of Congress. The same Congress that now pretends to care that those Soldiers in outpatient status at Walter Reed Army Medical Center are living in a dilapidated barracks. How does a mind move from calling Soldiers Nazis and cold-blooded murderers to caring about how the Nazis and cold-blooded murderers are treated? Easy, politics. The sad part is that if it weren’t for the politics on both sides of this issue, the living conditions and treatment of Soldiers would not garner a second thought – except by the people who were fired from their jobs for political cover. One side points fingers and blames while the other side lays waste to an entire command, both trying to prove how much they care. The question is about what do they care?

When a group of Veterans and supporters decide to gather to protect our war memorials and show support for our Troops the name-calling and threats from “peace” activists is astounding. The expression that Hugo Chavez’s girl Cindy Sheehan and her jihad sympathizing compatriots like to use is Reich-wing. If you served your country, support it and support the troops, you’re a Nazi. Sounds too much like Congress doesn’t it?

Everyone gasped the other day when Ann Coulter characterized Johnny Edwards as a faggot. Frankly, I wouldn’t have insulted homosexuals by comparing them to Edwards. I think Howdy Doody is a more apt comparison, although it might offend Howdy. But, I don’t want too many brain cells firing, and thereby contributing to global warming, by worrying about someone that doesn’t have a snowball’s chance in Death Valley of ever living at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. There is something interesting here though. Conservatives and liberals beat up Ann Coulter for her comment, but who challenged Howdy Doody when he hired two profane, anti-Christian bigots to Blog for his campaign? Instead of firing them, Johnny defended their freedom of speech. Odd how he didn’t defend Ann’s. As the Democrats in Nevada have shown us, liberals are only interested in free speech when it’s theirs and they control it.

Democrats can make political speeches in Churches and it’s OK. They can pander with southern accents like Miss. Hillary did or they can find the black accent that wasn’t there befo’, as Obama did. If a Republican gets within a half-mile of a Christian, however, liberals go berserk calling theocracy in progress.

Then there’s Nancy logic. Republicans are unethical, but we won’t talk about the ninety thousand dollars hidden in Congressman William Jefferson’s freezer or Abscam Jack’s past. We will call the President and Vice President incompetent liars and warmongers at every opportunity and then demand from them an immediate apology when our own judgment is questioned.

If you’re alGore, you can use more energy than it takes to power up and sustain my neighborhood while blaming global warming on someone else. You can make it better, however, if you buy carbon offsets from your own company. That is perfect liberal logic. If I use too much carbon-based energy, I can fix it by giving myself money while demanding that everyone else park their pick-up trucks. By the size of Al, I expect he contributes more methane to the environment than the average community does too. The only global warming Al or any of us needs to worry with is that which comes from a nuclear detonation. Millions of degrees at ground zero I hear.

Oh, just in case you missed it. Anna’s buried and Britney is still stupid.

If I were the leader of a terrorist organization with a goal of destroying the United States, I would never look for a direct confrontation like Afghanistan or Iraq. I’d keep the pressure up from the outside. A bomb here, a bomb there. Blow up a Church or two, a mall, a crowded theater, a sporting event. Then I would sit back and watch the country eat itself. Like it’s doing now.

I’ll be in the back yard working on the bunker.

I’ve humbly re-posted your “Axis of Idiots” post, this morning, on my blog.
