Stand Up, Speak Up
J. D. Pendry
“Say what you have to say. Not what you ought.” – Henry David Thoreau
Candor and Courage are necessary, highly held military values. Without them, honest assessments and valuable insight are lost. Missions fail. People die. Leaders have to say and stand up for what they believe. They can never cower when challenged for what they hold dear and for what they are willing to and have sacrificed to defend.
Do you like it when people speak their minds? When they have the courage to say what they believe and refuse to stand down after they’ve said it? You should, because it gives insight to the person. In our country, it’s hard to do that when what you believe contradicts liberal led political and mainstream media groupthink. Political correctness is America’s suicide pact.
Liberal media and politicians attacked General Pace for expressing his personal conviction that homosexuality is immoral. The don’t ask, don’t tell policy is not about morality. It’s about discipline. But, does that prohibit the General from expressing his honest held belief? The question is, would you prefer that the General publicly support homosexuality to placate those who label as phobic anyone who shares their true feelings or, would you prefer that he say something politically correct while continuing to act according to his true beliefs? That is what politicians do. Washington’s politicians and their liberal media sponsors despise General Pace because of his honesty. Men like the General are able to tell you what they believe and then stand by it. If there is one thing that double-dealing Washington knot heads cannot handle it’s straight forward honesty.
Radical lesbian Rosie speaks her mind as well. I appreciate that. Each time she opens her mouth she proves that she’s nuttier than squirrel turds, but as deranged as it sounds I think she believes what she says. This past week, she said we’d stripped all humanity from Khalid Sheikh Mohammed because we used aggressive interrogation techniques on him. Validating Rosie, Senators Levin and Graham are asking for an investigation into his treatment by the CIA. The liberal media didn’t seem to mind that Rosie condemned America while assigning measurable humanity to a man personally responsible for thousands of murders. Frankly, Rosie, I’m disappointed the man still has eyelids and fingernails, but I’m inhumane when it comes to dealing with ruthless, murdering scum. Almost as inhumane, as Khalid Sheikh Mohammed would be to a radical lesbian as he removed her head with his “blessed right hand” as he claims to have done for Daniel Pearl. As for the Senators, they live up to expectations of mindless, directionless men who are leading us into dhimmitude.
On March 17, 2007, according to National Park Service estimates 30,000 Americans, defenders of freedom past and present, decided it was time to break silence, stand up and speak up in defense of our troops and our country. What 30,000 Eagles proved is that when you stand up, the jihad sympathizers back down. Like the Phoenix rising from the ashes, this group consisting of many Vietnam veterans, outnumbered the anarchists 3 to 1. As always, throughout the history of our nation, men and women such as this step forward to lead when others are reluctant. They sent a strong message to the America haters and the political establishment in Washington. Emphatically they said no more!
Mr. President, Americans hunger for the type of candid and courageous leadership shown to us this weekend by the Gathering of Eagles. They have now passed the baton to you, our leader. You have choices to make. You can either spend the next two years parrying nonsensical attacks from liberals while they decimate your administration or you can put your finger in the collective chest of America’s axis of idiots and call BS on them. You can be like the Eagles and Stand Up. Forget about uniting the political establishment in Washington. It has but a single goal of rendering you and by extension our country helpless. In six years, even while at war, you’ve been unable to move them in unison. Abandon them and lead the Americans that are starving for your leadership. Americans are looking for the man that stood atop the rubble in New York with a bullhorn and spoke to a shocked nation and the world. The Eagles, as they’ve always done, cleared the way for you to retake that high ground.
Forget about Washington’s politicians and the media Mr. President. They didn’t elect you, we did. Serve us. Serve the Troops you sent into combat. It’s time for you to use the pulpit Americans gave you and to get past caring about the feelings of people bent on your destruction. You cannot deal with people more concerned about the humanity of a murderer than they are the lives of Americans.
Everyday until you leave the office of Commander in Chief, America needs to hear you Stand up and Speak up. Every single day Sir! This is the campaign to save our country. This is the campaign of your life. Throw away the scripts and politically correct words and forget about what you ought to say. Instead, say what you have to say and must say to lead America to a victory at home and in this War. It was you Mr. President, who said, “We will never back down, and we will never give in, and we’ll never accept anything less than complete victory.” Stand up for what you believe if you believe it. If you lead, Americans will follow. You have two years left to save our country.
If you can’t Eagle Up and be the leader we need, then you should leave office today. Take the Vice President with you and let Pelosi assume the role. At least if we are going to hell it may as well be on the express train instead of slow bleeding ride of one heart beat at a time.
America is standing by.

The Day We Took Our Country Back…
Forty years lost in the wilderness. Forty years in exile. Behind us now. Yesterday we took our country back. It’s in the air. I can feel it. Can you? …
