Who Won Harry?

J. D. Pendry

You don’t mind if I call you Harry do you? I’m just an Average American and since you preface every statement you make by portending what I want, I thought we would be comfortable using first names. I could call you Senator if you like, but understand that I get a searing pain in my right temple each time I think about that. As you know me so well and seem so concerned about my desires, I’m sure that you don’t wish me any discomfort. My faith tells me I should not succumb to fits of rage, but I have simmered a bit about this one Harry. I’ll try to be civil, but I may need to ask forgiveness afterwards.

So, if we have lost this war, who won it? You haven’t exactly explained that for me or the rest of the Average Americans out here. As the twitch returns above my right temple, allow me to speculate:

“Iraq is, in fact, the central front of al Qaeda’s global campaign and we devote considerable resources to the fight against al Qaeda Iraq….

They [Qazali network responsible for the deaths of five Soldiers in Karbala] were provided substantial funding, training on Iranian soil, advanced explosive munitions and technologies as well as run of the mill arms and ammunition, in some cases advice and in some cases even a degree of direction….

And there’s no question, again, that Iranian financing is taking place through the Quds force of the Iranian Republican Guards Corps…” – General David Petraeus

Does that clear if up for you Harry?

Harry, I think you are a loser and what’s more, real Americans don’t care for losers – losers at anything much less war. You see in war, I do not recall there being a second place trophy.

“When you, here, everyone of you, were kids, you all admired the champion marble player, the fastest runner, the toughest boxer, the big league ball players, and the All-American football players. Americans love a winner. Americans will not tolerate a loser. Americans despise cowards. Americans play to win all of the time. I wouldn’t give a hoot in hell for a man who lost and laughed. That’s why Americans have never lost nor will ever lose a war; for the very idea of losing is hateful to an American.” – General George Patton

If General Patton could only see you today Harry. Americans, especially those in the Armed Forces of the United States still hold to the winning spirit described by General Patton. Of one thing, you can be certain history will paint you in a much different light than it does them. Years from now, your descendants will pick up a history book (hopefully not written by the Historical Branch of the Caliphate) written by a factual historian and not a friendly member of the media branch of the Jack Ass party. What they will learn is how you, far above all others, were so willing to surrender our country to fanatical Islamists. And for what? So, as you put it, you can win more Senate seats in 2008.

Along with Abscam Jack Murtha, who wants to slow bleed our Soldiers of reinforcements, and your partner, Nancy Pelosi, who has time for tea with a terrorist leader, but not the time of day to hear from our top field commander, you may succeed in losing this war. A war, that because of you, my two year-old Granddaughter may have to endure. History will record the number of innocent lives lost because of the actions of your caucus of defeat, and it will be many.

Life is full of choices Harry. All of them come with consequences. You believe the consequence of the choices you’ve made, as you have unashamedly expressed, will be more political power. The real consequence of your choice is encouragement to the enemy - encouragement that can only result in more lost American lives. I ask that you, and your conspirators, not ever again insult the Americans serving in the Armed Forces of the United States or their families by proclaiming that you support the troops. It is painfully clear to everyone what you support.

In this war, as it was in Vietnam, Americans will not know battlefield defeat. American politicians, at least of your brand Harry, own it, live it, long for it every day that you walk into your Congressional office to collect the people’s money and revel in your own inflated self-image. Unfortunately, politicians rarely suffer because of the defeat they work so hard to achieve. It is the Soldiers and their families, not the politicians who suffer, but no one pretends that you care about that.

I would ask you to do the honorable thing and resign, but before a man can do what is honorable he must first possess a degree of Honor.

Losers

J. D. Pendry

As I start this, I am sitting about 7,000 miles from Washington, DC. It’s 7:18 AM, April 20, 2007. It’s 6:18 PM, April 19, 2007 in Washington, DC. My Granddaughter is not yet awake.

Imagine how you might feel when connecting to the Internet, after having avoided it for several days, and the first news images you see portraying your country to the rest of the world are those of losers. One of them is a mentally ill mass murderer. The other one is the apparently mentally ill Democrat leader of the United States Senate. Being untrained in mental disorders, I can only offer a nonprofessional’s opinion of the Senator’s failing mental health as opposed to the documented evidence available in the case of the murderer.

Scary Harry Reid announced to the world that the war is lost. It is hopeless. Terror wins, America loses. Put that image into your mind along side the picture of the headscarf wearing Granny Nan Pelosi and one becomes convinced that the leaders of America’s Axis of Idiots will not quit until the Islamic lunatics vaporize thousands more if us. What will their response be when it happens? It’ll be the same as was their reaction to the mass murderer. If we could just take away all of the guns and if evil American kids had not bullied the mentally ill killer…. If Americans had never invented nuclear weapons and if we were not such global bullies…. We turn perpetrators into victims and victims into perpetrators. I believe that such a thought process must come from a mental illness, a death wish like that of the mass murderer. In the case of the Senator it’s not a personal one, it’s a National death wish. Incredibly, he thinks it’s a death wish for an opposing political party, which is all that concerns him and the rest of the Axis of Idiots. Instead, unfortunately, it is a death wish for our country, for you and me. It is a death wish for the Soldiers facing our enemies and a complete discounting of their sacrifice. It’s a death wish for more innocent Iraqi civilians that comes each time Harry, Nan and other knotheads make stupid and irresponsible comments. None of this affects Harry. In safe Washington, he won’t encounter IEDs on the way to work or homicide bombers further encouraged by nonsensical rhetoric – at least not presently. The mullahs could not have come up with more effective motivation for the killers than did a United States Senator. Isn’t that pathetic? We’re barreling down the tracks on a bullet train toward hell led by dopey conductors Harry and Nan. America needs to stop the activities of this duo of defeat. If there is a politician out there with a spine, it’s time to stand for America and against her idiots. If you helped put Harry and Nan into office, maybe a visit for you to your local mental health professional is in order.

Do you reckon Harry realizes that the words of the United States Senate Majority Leader enjoy instantaneous transmission across the globe? Words embellished and repeatedly rebroadcast by the likes of CNN International, the BBC, al Jazeera and a multitude of American hating jihad propagandists. Do you suppose he even cares about that or can he possibly be so stupid as not to realize it? Outright stupidity or mental illness is the only explanation as far as I can see. Doesn’t he realize that all over the Islamic lunatic world, people like bin Laden and Ahmademajab are saying see we told you so? While backslapping one another they are crowing about how Americans are led by men like Reid who are willing to provide encouragement to their enemies before defending their own country.

Senator Reid you need to resign. Before you do however, you need to face a military audience, the families of those who were lost in combat and our country’s many veterans and repeat your preposterous statements. I’m guessing that you have the courage to make your statements on the floor of the Senate or to person-less television cameras. What you do not have is the courage to face the Men and Women of the armed forces or their families who are real people making real sacrifices for our country and us.

Please leave the welfare of America to Americans. In case you failed to notice it, I am questioning your patriotism or more accurately your lack thereof. The inevitable “I was taken out of context” simply will not cut it this time. For the sake of our country, leave Harry. Take Nan with you.

OK, I’m officially back on vacation.

Granny Nan

But when I was silent and still,
not even saying anything good,
my anguish increased.
My heart grew hot within me,
and as I meditated, the fire burned;
then I spoke with my tongue. – Psalm 39:2-3

Normally, I just question the motives of politicians – all brands of them. I question their intellectual capacity too. Not that I consider myself particularly brighter than any of them, but often I feel more in touch with our country and its place in world events than the grasp I see demonstrated by many politicians. Either they are completely ignorant or by choice they ignore reality in favor of politics or for some other self-absorbed motive. Now, I have reached the point of questioning the sanity of some of them as well. Not only is the Rosie O. mentality available to us on television, its also coming to us from the halls of Congress and directly from the lips of Granny Nan, a.k.a. Madam Speaker.

It’s Easter and it’s supposed to be a time of renewal. It’s the time for Christians to revisit the basis for our religion, the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It’s Spring. Flowers are blooming, trees are budding and new weeds have invaded the lawn. Over here in Wild Wonderful, global warming reared its ugly head. Many of our flowering trees, like Dogwoods are losing their blooms to an Easter freeze. There’s no shortage of people that take on the environment as their religion. There is also no shortage of them to tell you that Christianity, the resurrection and the Holy Bible are just myths and folklore. People like Rosie O. and other entertainers hope to put Christianity in the closet and bring their deviant behavior out of it. They tell us what we believe is myth, although well documented historically, and expect us to accept that the lives they follow are steeped in reality. Reality? From people who earn their living pretending.

As you can see, I’m a bit scatter brained today, but with some luck I might tie a couple of thoughts together. The Pastor’s sermon this morning was rather matter of fact. The title of it was Should We Close Up Shop? He spoke about the Hollywood director who claims he found the tomb of Jesus and family in Jerusalem, a story sounding too much like the DaVinci Code. The message was, if we believe Hollywood (my words, not the Pastor’s) then we should shut the Church doors and go home. Christianity is over. But, isn’t this their goal? Rid the earth of, as Rosie puts it, “radical Christianity.” Or, at a minimum, marginalize it. Interestingly, it’s a goal shared by people who prefer to spend their time killing us rather than spending it making mockumentaries of our beliefs. It’s acceptable for tolerant liberals to mock Christianity. Unlike Islam, we pray for them instead of lopping off their heads. As you can see, the Preachers thoughts often make my mind take turns he may not have intended. I’m certain that it will come as a shock to him that there might be a wandering mind or two in the congregation.

Isn’t there also a basis for our country? One that we should examine periodically and decide whether it’s valid. Do we live up to our stated purpose found in the Declaration of Independence? Our laws based on our Constitution?

Granny Nan visited some of the people who’ve made it their goal to destroy us – all of us not just us simple-minded Christians - and have killed many Americans in the process. Some think she may have committed a felony while doing it.

The Logan Act makes it a felony and provides for a prison sentence of up to three years for any American, “without authority of the United States,” to communicate with a foreign government in an effort to influence that government’s behavior on any “disputes or controversies with the United States.” Robert F. Turner, Wall Street Journal, April 6, 2007.

The media is not going to demand an investigation. Congress is not going to initiate one. There’ll be no special prosecutors. There will be no calls for impeachment, as most Americans don’t have a clue. As the Preacher said, if we cannot accept the basis for what we believe, then we should just quit it, which brings me around the block and in through the back door to where I began. The basis of our country is law. The purpose of our elected officers is to defend and uphold the law and to be the example for the rest of us. So where does that leave Granny Nan? Are we to assume that she is too ignorant to know that foreign policy belongs to the Executive Branch of Government and that as the third in line to the Presidency she shouldn’t be visiting state sponsors of terrorism and giving them a propaganda coup? Or, should we assume that she didn’t know that there is federal law prohibiting her acts? Or, should we assume that she knows these things and still put on a headscarf and went off to surrender America and submit to Islam. If, so, the only question left is the matter of her sanity. After all, she does hang out with Jack Murtha. Keep the headscarf handy Nan. The way we’re progressing, closing shop may not even be a choice.

I’ll be traveling for the next two weeks and monitoring email when I can. I expect my next post to be April 29. That is unless some time is available for a short note. I hope you all had a wonderful Easter with your families and that your blessings are many.

Policy of Restraint

Sunday, April 1st, 2007

J. D. Pendry

On November 4, 1979, I was in Erie, Pennsylvania working at Gannon University as an Army Reserve Officer’s Training Corps (ROTC) instructor. I arrived there during the blizzard of 1977 and stayed until the summer of 1980. I left on a July day when the temperature was in the 50s, which isn’t unusual considering that Erie’s mean temperature for July is 66 degrees Fahrenheit. The running joke is that Erie has only two seasons, winter and the 4th of July. A couple of days after leaving Erie, I turned up at Fort McClellan in Anniston, Alabama where it was pleasantly a humid 104.

What do you recall about November 4, 1979? It’s the day that Iranian Islamo fascists, one of which was their current President referred to in our even then politically correct media as students, decided to take our embassy in Tehran and hold Americans hostage for 444 days. Most of the people burning American Soldiers in effigy in Portland and defecating on American flags probably weren’t born yet. Their historical outlook comes from Rosie O. and the1960s hippies who are now their college professors. Gannon had some Iranian students. I expect they were rich kids more than they were extremists, but I still gave them added scrutiny as we passed on campus. I suppose I was profiling them before there was a politically incorrect name for it.

The ROTC instructors participated in student-faculty intramural sports. Our volleyball team cruised through the season, but because of an injury, we ended up one man short playing the championship game against an Iranian student team. It’s tough to compete against a good team when you have only 5 of the needed 6 players. It was too easy for them to exploit our weakness - the spot left empty by the missing player. It was a close two out of three, but we lost. The student spectators cheered for the Iranians. I always reckoned it was just students cheering for students because they were competing with faculty. On reflection, maybe it wasn’t. ROTC was once compulsory for underclassmen at Gannon. Then came the 60s draft card burning anti-war era and an attempt was made to boot the program from the school altogether. It survived.

The ROTC sponsored drives to send packages to American hostages in Iran. Whether they arrived there or not, who knows? But, we sent them just the same. If you find the Carter Library on line, you can read about the President’s policy of restraint for dealing with the hostage crisis. There was one rescue attempt. It was a disaster for us. I remember watching a mullah on nightly news proudly displaying the charred remains of an American who died during the try. After watching this black-hatted charlatan poke his finger in our eye yet again, I was certain that we would find enough gumption somewhere to convert some of those mullahs into charred remains. But, we didn’t. Our military was still in recovery and getting little help from President Carter. Money to pay for adequate training and spare parts needed for worn out equipment was hard to come by. We probably weren’t in shape militarily to mount much of an effort and the President’s approach confirmed that in the minds of the terrorists. To them we were just a big unwieldy, floundering beast not capable of or willing to strike back hard at its enemies. Mr. Carter’s policy of restraint allowed these mullahs to gain foothold in the region, which is why I consider him the father of the movement. Since 1979, the Iranians have spread their hatred for America, Israel and the West in general around the world. Their sponsorship of terrorism has killed many Americans. Hostage taking is not new to the Iranians nor is western reluctance to pound the snot out of them for doing it. That’s why they continue.

The Iranians are doing a great job of exploiting our weakness. In our case, it’s a weak willed and juvenile minded Congress bolstered by a Bush hating liberal media. Some of our lawmakers are offering legislation prohibiting a military strike against Iran. 269 of them, bribed with pork money for everything from peanuts to spinach, voted for surrender. Does one sleep well at night when he trades his honor and our national security for peanuts? You’d think that these allegedly well educated people are aware of the instantaneous worldwide communication of their rhetoric and legislative idiocy and the damage it does to our national security. With every piece of appeasement legislation that passes, the enemy grows a little bolder, just as it did in the years leading up to 9/11.

It’s announced now that the Speaker of the House of Representatives, third in line to the Presidency of the United States, Nancy Pelosi will visit Syria against the wishes of our Commander in Chief. Part of her entourage is West Virginia Democrat, Arab-American, Congressman Nick Rahall. It could be news to some of you that his sister, Tanya Rahall, lobbies for Qatar. She is paid well to lobby her own brother and other members of Congress for Arab interests. Isn’t that enlightening? Interestingly, our first Muslim Congressman, Keith Ellison, Democrat from Minnesota will also make the trip. You might recall that he insisted on taking his oath on the Koran, which according to the Islamists is incompatible with democracy. You may also recall the dust up in Minnesota when Muslim taxi drivers decided they’d institute Sharia law and refuse service to anyone carrying visible alcohol.

The person third in line to the Presidency of the United States will defy the President and sit with a known sponsor of terror. What promises might she make? How do you think our enemies, one of which is the President of Syria, view this? Send insurgents and bombers into Iraq to kill Americans and you are rewarded with a visit from the person third in line to the Presidency of the United States. Good deal. It’s the policy of restraint –and appeasement - all over again. If we can just sit and talk, surely Granny Nancy can work this out. After all, Rosie says we should not fear the terrorists because they are mothers and fathers too. That constituent sentiment is reflected in Madam Speaker’s, because I’m smarter than George Bush is, trip to Syria. Let’s sip tea and chat with murderers, kidnappers, beheaders and people who feel divinely led to destroy us. Much will come of that, but probably none of it good.

We have returned to Thermopylae. Our Spartans, the world’s best warriors, stand in the pass to block the Persians bent on our domination. Unfortunate for them, as similar to the Spartans, incredibly stupid, bought and paid for politicians and their Rosie O’Donnell constituencies betrayed then abandoned them. Thanks to them our Warriors, like our volleyball team back at Gannon, are competing a crucial man short. There is a major difference, however, between the Spartans and us. Our Congress voted to send Soldiers to war then voted to abandon them on the battlefield. If there is a worse example in history of the absence of honor among men, I don’t know what it is. It’s what I’ve come to expect from politicians, especially those of the Jimmy Carter party. It leaves you to wonder for whom Congress, Rosie and the other assorted Polecat-Americans are rooting.

There’s an axiom that says an army of sheep led by a lion will defeat an army of lions led by a sheep. Our problem is that our lions are currently led by and entire army of sheep.
