I took a short break from politics. It wasn’t a planned break, at least not my plan, but it did clear my mind some. I needed the break to mentally cut through the spin. I watched football in lieu of the first debate. I do not need a debate to help me decide.

I pondered how it is that you and I will once again have to save, with our hard earned income, the careers of incompetent politicians. The collection of pandering boobs who are solely responsible for the economic and energy problems our country faces. If things work out, you and I will not receive credit for our contributions, nor will we see any return on yet another bad investment – in politicians and policy.

We have strayed far from some of the fundamentals on which our country was built.

We strayed from free enterprise. When a company’s business is loaning money for the purpose of earning a return through the interest charged, they rely on historical standards that tells them who is a bad risk for a loan. They stay in business by loaning money to people who are at low risk to default. When politicians meddle and force these companies to abandon their lending standards for some socialist ideal, then you and I are stuck holding the bag. The politicians who created the fiasco are the first in front of the cameras telling you and me how they are going to save us – from another problem of their creation and with our money. Did you sign up to be a guarantor or co-signer for bad loans? After we nationalize the financial markets, what is next?

We strayed from the concept of a free press. Have you heard how supporters of Senator Obama tried to shut down WGN Radio because they had the audacity to interview a writer reporting facts about him? There is a bigger dustup in Missouri where Democrats in law enforcement are accused by the state Governor of intimidating people who run ads against the Senator. Go to your online dictionary and look up fascism.

We once marveled at how free and honest the American press is. We would read news releases from communist countries and places like Iran and tell ourselves that propaganda such as that would never make its way into our press. What a bunch of dupes we are. Dishonesty and propaganda have replaced anything resembling objectivity in the American “free press.”

Some examples: You know that John McCain has been treated for melanoma, that Governor Palin has a pregnant teenage daughter and that her husband had a DUI 20 years ago. You know that John McCain married a wealthy woman who owns multiple properties and that Governor Palin had the audacity to fire a member of her cabinet. You have probably also heard that she is a Christian who once belonged to a Pentecostal Church - gasp. You have repeatedly heard that poor old dumb Sarah is out of her league, but you haven’t seen the videos of the stuttering, stammering unrehearsed Obama. You have not heard Joebama Biden tell a wheel chair bound state senator to stand up, admit that Mrs. Clinton would have been a better choice than him or that President Roosevelt went on television in 1929 when the stock market crashed, but there was no television in 1929 and well, Hoover was president.

What do you know about the communist Frank Marshall Davis? He was a mentor to Senator Obama. About the time that Todd Palin (who, like his daughter is not a candidate) was getting his DUI, Senator Obama was admittedly using cocaine. Have you learned about Senator Obama’s real estate and political dealings with Tony Rezko, convicted felon now awaiting his prison sentence? What do you really know about the church he belonged to for 20 years?

Here is a short lesson for you. Liberation Theology is Marxism sold as religion. Black Liberation Theology, the foundation of Senator Obama’s Church, just adds another layer to the Marxist ideology. One of my spiritual guides, the author of the Jehoiada blog, gave me the fundamentals, which should precede any discussion on the topic.

Theology is the study of God “Theos” – the Greek term for the God, His oneness, righteousness, sovereignty, etc; and “ology” the Greek term meaning “study of.” Any time the word theology is prefaced with another word or term that cannot be supported or validated in or with Scripture in relation to the study of God, it is heresy.

The study of the Holy Spirit (the Spirit of God) is Pneumatology
The study of Christ (God, the Son) is Christology
The study of salvation (God’s gift to man) is Soteriology

Examples like [Liberation Theology and Black Liberation Theology] are flawed, heretical and unsupported or unsubstantiated by God’s Word.

Or as the prophet Isaiah explained it. “… Their worship of me is made up only of rules taught by men. – Isaiah 29:13 The Senator may be strong in what he believes, but they are not Christian beliefs.

What do you know about terrorist William Ayers, a self-described little “c” communist, in whose home Senator Obama’s political career began and with who the relationship appears may go all the way back to the Senator’s days at Columbia University?

Your relationships will define you. That is just the tip of the Obama iceberg, that if it were objectively reported by our vaunted “free press”, our self-proclaimed watchdogs, his candidacy would be a laughing stock. Unfortunately for our country it is deadly serious. We allow the media to fill us up with biased garbage rather than factual and objectively reported news and we still watch their programs and buy their papers. They will keep doing what they do as long as it earns them your money and promotes to you their ideals.

We have forfeited integrity in America. The fundamental building block of our country is integrity. When a people do not stand against dishonesty, they too are being dishonest. The only way a great nation can be destroyed is when its people stop paying attention to how it is being run. We stopped paying attention long ago. Historically, about 50 percent of us who can will actually vote on Election Day. We allow politicians to repeatedly lie to us and we send them right back to Washington to continue their legacy of incompetence. In return, we get exactly what we deserve – a Congress that 90 percent of us believes is a total failure. Because it is.

Most of those incompetent people will be back in office for new terms courtesy of our votes or lack thereof in January 2009 and this time possibly led by a Marxist.

We have strayed from our Judeo-Christian values. We have abused our freedom of the press by allowing it to become a political and ideological entity. We have strayed from free enterprise by allowing politicians to meddle and socialize businesses. We strayed from our base of integrity by allowing liars and thieves to stay in office and squander the wealth of our nation. The wealth that you built.

Maybe I do need some more time off. I think I will go work on the bunker. In the meantime, Washington needs an enema. Shall we give it one on Election Day?

I just got this email from friends of mine. It was sent to them from someone who lives in Wasilla, Alaska and knows Sarah Palin….

It started with one glowing email, which was rather short and Sarah Palin admiring in its content. Then they began to morph into lengthy dissertations complete with statistics and all of the scary reasons why Governor Palin should not be a “heartbeat away” from the Presidency. With Nan Pelosi sitting two heartbeats away, I do not know why anyone would think that tired expression is frightening to me. These emails are now arriving in my mailbox with somber notices at the beginning, “I just received this from some friends who received it from this lady who lives in Wasilla and knows Governor Palin. Read it and make your own judgment.” And I do, I hit the delete button and send that puppy straight to cyber heaven or possibly it heads in a more southerly cyber direction. I cannot believe what I read in the media most of the time so I reckon I will pass on the content of unsolicited emails from sources I do not know (the mainstream media quotes these as unnamed sources) that likely originated in the same Chicago basement as the banned book email hoax did. To quote Barack Hopenchange Obama, “Enough! Enough!”

I have heard so much outright lunacy over the past few days that I am not quite sure how to sort it all out, but you know that I am prone to try.

Matt Damon, who spends his working life memorizing lines from a script and pretending to be someone else offers that Sarah Palin being the Vice President and a “heartbeat away” (that truly is an annoying expression) is absurd. Damon said it sounded like a bad Disney movie, “Hockey Mom Becomes Vice President.” Well Matthew, I suppose most of us have not reached the intellectual heights achieved by you and your esteemed Hollywood colleagues. But, you know what Matthew? Many of us intellectually deficient commoners enjoy Disney movies. We can watch them with our children or grandchildren sitting on our knees and not worry that they will be subjected to a steady stream of Hollywood profanity. Matthew, do you know what the social message usually is in Disney movies? Little girl can grow up, get married, raise a family, become a governor and maybe even a President one day. Besides, we already heard you announce your support for the candidate with which you have much in common, you know, memorizing scripts and pretending to be someone you are not.

John McCain lowered his IQ a few notches this week with an appearance on The View. I suggest they might want to rename that program to The View from the Insane Asylum. Whoopi Goldberg, after hearing John McCain say that he would appoint Supreme Court Justices who strictly interpret the Constitution, asked if she should be concerned about being returned to slavery (when were you ever there Whoopi, just to be curious). I am guessing that Whoopi, a well known Hollywood intellectual, did not learn about that Constitutional amendment during her educational pursuits. No Ms. Goldberg, the only thing you need to worry about is Ms. Walters not giving you your medication before the program starts each day.

Then there is this jewel of liberal intellect. Congressman Steve Cohen, a Democrat from Tennessee, from the floor of Congress no less tells us if it is real change we want, then we need to vote for a Democrat. Because, he points out, Jesus Christ was a Community Organizer and Pontius Pilate was a Governor. That is more than just plain stupid; it is also hugely offensive unless of course you are Donna Brazille or Susan Sarandon who parroted those comments.

By now you must know about Saul Alinsky, or maybe not. Saul Alinsky, a leftist Marxist, wrote a book that is the field manual for community organizers titled, Rules for Radicals. Mr. Alinsky dedicated his book to “…the first radical known to man who rebelled against the establishment and did it so effectively that he at least won his own kingdom. – Lucifer.” Senator Obama was trained in the Alinsky method and even taught workshops for the institution founded by Alinsky. So, applying liberal logic, Jesus used the methods of a Marxist who dedicated his lessons to Lucifer. Yep, that will sell well out here where we cling to our Bibles and guns.

Have you noticed that being a Christian is only a problem if you are a Republican? No, I am not going to get into Wright and Fleger. Have you noticed how the media and others have tried to paint Governor Palin as some sort of religious fanatic? Like Congressman Cohen’s idiotic remark, it shows how little these people actually know. Sarah Palin, and I listened to the whole recording, did not say that the Iraq War was our mission from God. What she said is what Christians do every day.  That is that we pray that what we do is God’s will for us - his plan, not that we pretend to know what it is, only that we will be led there by Him. Is that one too hard for you to understand Charlie Gibson? Maybe Matt Damon can straighten you out on that topic.

Anyway, I got this email from a guy on the South Side of Chicago who knew Barack Hopenchange Obama. He told me how Senator Obama got his competition disqualified from the ballot when he ran for state senate, then how he managed to have his US Senate opponent’s divorce records made public….

Got a minute?

I expect by now that you are covered up with image consultants, wardrobe consultants, political strategists, campaign masterminds and any number of minions who have spent their lives manufacturing plastic people with plastic stories that they hope to sell to real Americans. So you probably do not need advice emanating from a piece of the hillside here in Wild Wonderful West Virginia. But, even when not solicited, I am prone to offer it.

For heaven sakes whatever else you might consider, don’t change the hair do.

Just remember, it was authenticity that brought you to this hockey game and arguably made you America’s most popular political figure. You do not need to manufacture an image in order to connect with Americans. God and life’s experiences took care of that for you. Both gave you the story that most politicians spend millions to make up. My Daddy was a mill worker, my Daddy was a poor factory worker, my Daddy was… None of that matters. What matters is not who or what Daddy was. What matters out here in my small-town America is who you are, what you have done and what and who you represent. That is what scares the snot out of America’s self-appointed aristocracy. They see people wearing jeans and not the designer variety either, with calluses on their hands and dirt beneath their fingernails standing at the gate with a battering ram named Sarah. And they are genuinely afraid of that.

Did I mention that a big ole whistle pig has taken residence underneath the shed in my back yard? I bet you that dang few of those DC metro-sexual men would know a whistle pig if they seen one. I don’t even know if groundhogs are native to Alaska, but I expect that you would not be shocked to see one out there in your back yard. I don’t mean to digress. I know you are probably busier than a one-legged man in a butt kicking contest about now, so I will try not to take too much more of your time.

However it came to be, common America sees one of its own out there on the national stage. I am not sure if even you know what is building out here because of that. I know that probably puts a lot of pressure on you. Just keep in mind who you are talking for and too and you will be just fine. A hint, it is neither Washington’s shysters nor Hollywood’s socialists.

They are going to do their level best to destroy you. They would love nothing better than see you quit and will become more viscous towards you and your family as the election nears. They have already and will continue to say things that would bring many to tears. You cannot give them that victory. Stand firm and continue to pound the snot out of them. A steady dose of forceful hip checks into the boards delivered with that Sarah smile and they will self-destruct. Every day that you hold up, they become a little more unhinged. Signs of desperation are already showing. Also, whenever one of these polecats, who like to pretend that they are objective journalists, takes an undeserved swipe at you or your family they are swiping at every American who has ever worked for a living. To their undoing, they have not figured that out yet. They believe that everyone who matters is like them and that the rest are just a collection of uneducated hicks who cannot survive without their intervention.

You probably know by now that there is that other group that is angry with you. It is that assortment of females who profess to speak for all women. The ones who decided that having babies and fulfilling the subsequent responsibilities hindered their chances to pursue career opportunities, so they needed abortion on demand to remove barriers to their success. After all, they cannot be punished with babies. They wanted to go to the men’s only club and drink shots and smoke cigars with the boys. Now along comes successful Sarah with children. Amazingly, they discovered their motherly side insisting that it is simply not possible for you to be an important politician and properly care for your children. Although they billed it as such, they were not interested in being successful women. They wanted to be men. Your presence illustrates that to the world and boy that makes them madder’en hell.

Then there is Oprahbama-gate. You do not need Oprah. Your book is already a bestseller without her help. The moment you walk onto her stage, you become less like us and more like her. Maybe you should just go ahead and tell her that, politely of course. We are a jealous lot out here. We do not want to share you with Oprah.

Accept that you probably will not help Senator McCain get any votes in Oprahbama’s Chicago, in Nan’s San Francisco, or in Hill’s New York City or other similar places. Remember that most Americans are small-town people. Most of America’s employers are small business owners. Most Americans have never been to Chicago, San Francisco or New York City, but they are sitting now where you once sat. Never sacrifice who you are, what brought you here, or what you stand for and it will be you who someday pencils Oprah in on the calendar.
