A clear choice…

J. D. Pendry

Did you vote early? My bride and I did. Early voting is a convenience, but I am afraid it makes shenanigans easier. It gives dead people and Disney characters multiple opportunities to vote before Election Day. The media and pollsters are assuring us that our effort to vote was fruitless as McCain has already lost. I reckon we will know for sure in a few days.

I asked one of the poll workers how business was this year compared to 2004, when we also voted early. He said there are many more early voters this time around, averaging more than 700 per day. That might not seem like many to you, but it is for here. I asked him why he thought that was and he said this election is much different from the last one. I did not ask how he thought it differed. I just tried to read his expression. His response and my visual survey of those voting at the early polling place caused me to wonder about the pundit’s assessments and those polls. The early voters I observed did not meet the profile the media and pundits told me to expect. In 2004, yards around here were full of Kerry/Edwards signs. Some of them were as big as billboards. Kerry still took a whoupin here. Obama/Biden signs are scarce as hen’s teeth. I am not a political prognosticator, but something is not adding up with what we are hearing in the media and seeing in the polls.

We hear practically every election how this one is the most important one in the history of our country. This time, that might be an accurate statement. Regardless of who moves into the residence at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, we will have learned some important things about people and our country. The contrast between choices this time around is stark and there certainly are historic implications.

A Fox News reporter working for Bill O’Reilly tried to get William Ayers to answer some questions outside his home in Chicago. Do you know what leaped out at me during the exchange? It wasn’t the questions or the non answers. It was that big red star on the front of Mr. Ayers’ shirt. I had an immediate flashback to the 1960s and early 1970s.

Some of you lived through the hippie era. Red stars were standard accouterments for the clothing of the anti-American, anti-war, draft dodging, draft card burning hippies. The Fonda Kerry kids, the Students for Democratic Society, the Weather Underground, John Kerry’s Winter Soldier collection of frauds. These stars, representative of the communist enemies of our country, got prominent display by them while the American flag was desecrated, burned or used as a butt patch on nasty ragged jeans. When I see Ayers wearing this star on his chest and recall the recent photo of him standing on the American flag and his words saying he didn’t feel that he done enough when he was trying to kill people with bombs I know that he hasn’t changed one iota. Ayers is just one of many of those 60s hippies who morphed into “the establishment” they so hoped to destroy. You should no longer wonder how public education was transformed into liberal indoctrination. They are in Congress too. Just recall their words. They are in the courts giving constitutional rights to enemy combatants picked up on the battlefield. Now, they have a candidate ideologically shaped by his many radical associations only one of which is Ayers. When he accuses our military of air raiding villages and killing civilians, you should not be surprised. That is the rhetoric of the Fondas and Kerrys – and Ayers. He is backed by a gas bag yes man that would sell his soul for the second seat in the Whitehouse. If they get their man in the most powerful seat in the world, it will take generations to recover from another new deal or great society - if we can recover at all. Just imagine a federal court system more saturated than it now is with people ideologically aligned with Bill Ayers.

On the other side is just an old Warrior. He has been snickered at by the other side. He is too out of touch to use a computer. I suppose these tough guys from the left also had their wrists and elbows bound so tightly that they touched – behind their backs. Then of course they all know what it feels like to be strung up from the ceiling by those bound together elbows until their shoulders are dislocated. They know what it is to endure that treatment for 5 years and still come home loving your country. They cannot grasp the concept of humility. The old Warrior picked as his second someone deeply rooted in that great American Middle. That is the same middle that has made our country great and fought her wars and always came home expecting nothing in return. From the Ayers generation that is what they got. The associations and experiences that shaped the Warrior and his second are the ideological polar opposite from the other side. It is authentic American. The American we once read about in history books before those great educators like Mr. Ayers decided that history was not important enough to teach to future generations.

There has been some great unmasking this time around. We have learned that elitist snobs are not necessarily one in the same with left wing liberals. Some who proclaim themselves centrist and even conservative have stepped out from that elitist closet of theirs and summarily attacked a commoner who has the audacity to want to enter into their circle. Others have unmasked themselves politically, showing what many of us expected all along. Political generals are just that – politicians. We have learned that the American news media is no better than what is found in countries where it is state run propaganda.

This time around we can have a rebirth of America or we can place her in jeopardy of being lost to an ideology incompatible with everything that brought us to this point in history. This year, vote like your life depends on it.

Trust me…

J. D. Pendry

Have you ever held a job that required a simple background investigation or a security clearance? For much of my time in the Army, my duties required that I have a top secret security clearance. The special background investigation conducted to get and then maintain a top secret security clearance is quite extensive. One must provide 15 years of personal history consisting of references, credit records, relatives, neighbors, affiliations with organizations, workplaces, schools and you name it - and they are all checked. Each 5 years thereafter, all of the information must be updated and checked again. Your life is an open book and if you try to hide any of that your security clearance is lost and you could face serious criminal charges for hiding it. Some of my military jobs required that I be trusted with critically sensitive national security information. The security clearances, which gave me access to information that certainly would damage our national security if it ended up in the wrong hands, was not as high as a Whitehouse level security clearance.

So, whenever I hear about a politician, especially one who wants to be our president, refusing to release documents about his personal life it makes me distrust that person with the security of my family and country. Anyone who is not bothered by that either does not realize what is at stake or is just plain ignorant of the world in which we live and the potential for the rapid destruction of our country by our enemies. With the stroke of a pen, the President of the United States can declassify sensitive national security information. When your political alliances include self-admitted communists and people who think it is cute to have their pictures taken standing on the American flag that for me is a problem. Don’t you find it disconcerting that Privates in the Army who work with sensitive information and equipment are more investigated and must meet more stringent security requirements than a potential Commander in Chief? I do.

Remember 2004? Dan Rather produced fraudulent and forged documents about George Bush’s military service. Everything about President Bush was scrutinized and largely mischaracterized by the media. John Kerry on the other hand was defended. John Kerry who refused then and still refuses to release his complete military records. Before it was sent into cyber hell, I reviewed the DD Form 214 that John Kerry posted on his website. Within 30 seconds, I saw problems that the average person without knowledge of such records would not have noticed. One of his awards was listed as a Silver Star Medal with a V device. It was clearly an amateurish attempt to present a hero to Americans. In case you might not know it, a Silver Star is awarded for Combat Valor. There is no V device (for Valor) affixed to a Sliver Star. The V device is affixed to awards that are given for Combat Valor when the same award might also be earned for meritorious achievement. Examples are the Bronze Star Medal or the Army Commendation Medal. The second red flag on Mr. Kerry’s DD 214 was the annotation on his discharge concerning a review by a Board of Officers in the authority for discharge. The only reason this annotation would appear on a DD 214 is that if a Board of Officers were required to review for upgrade an Other than Honorable Discharge. If you need your memory refreshed, Thomas Lipscomb wrote interesting articles here and here about Mr. Kerry’s records. The authors of Fake Warriors talked about it here. Mr. Kerry could have cleared up any mystery or allegation simply by releasing all of his military records for public scrutiny. He did not and the mainstream American media while campaigning for him did not insist that he do it either. Mr. Kerry had plenty of questionable political alliances and even documented meetings with the North Vietnamese in Paris while he was still a Naval Reserve officer that was also not addressed in the media. If all of this was widely reported, this charlatan would not have had even a tiny chance of being elected to the Presidency. Fortunately, enough of his history was known to prevent his election.

I only rehashed Mr. Kerry’s questionable record and history to demonstrate for you a pattern of deception by liberal candidates and their supportive Pravda like media sycophants attempting to conceal information that voters should know. This is the most dangerous combination in the history of our country. The world’s worst and most dangerous leaders gained power under similar circumstances. Now, we have a candidate that refuses to release what should be harmless documents - his birth and school records. I am not trying to infer anything one way or the other concerning these records. Only that someone who wants to be my President and hold the security of my family and country in his hands should be happy to release documents that tell me who he is. You and I have a right to know. He has an obligation to tell us. The media has an obligation to insist that he does. When there is a refusal to release records, like John Kerry, I can only conclude that there is something to hide.

Would you allow someone to sit with your children or to protect your other most precious possessions – like freedom - if you didn’t know everything possible to know about them?

Spreadin’ the wealth?

Sunday, October 19th, 2008

J. D. Pendry

Or, is it spreadin’ the fertilizer? Joe the plumber reinforced some things for me this week. Some things that are important to me personally and to our country.

One of them is the death of objective honest journalism in America. Maybe I was just fooled into believing most of my life that such a thing ever existed here. The hammer and sickle or crescent moon media is not nearly as focused as ours is on achieving their political objectives. When a closed group of people have the power to sway public opinion to support their ideology while leaving them blind to important facts, it is very dangerous. I hereby declare media integrity as the national oxymoron of the United States. In that assessment, I have to include Fox also, especially Brit Hume’s “all-stars’” assessment of the last presidential debate. I did not watch the debate, but listened to most of it and the all-star spin that followed it. Clearly, they did not hear the same debate as me. That is quite telling. It is telling, because obviously those who reside inside the beltway hear things much differently from me. I cannot choose which all-star swoon was the most nauseating. Substance mattered not as they described Senator Obama as presidential, elegant, articulate…. They failed to point out, however, that he articulately and elegantly told some real whoppers. Like Colin Powell, they all reminded me of Democrat super delegates – hedging their bets for future favor.

The media went after ol’ Joe the Plumber like a duck chasing a June bug across the backyard. Working people were once held up as the pillars of America. How does it feel to know how you are now viewed? I expect that they pulled the dumpster divers out of Wasilla and put them on mission to get Joe. A mission to destroy a common and free American working-man who had the fortitude to ask a simple question of a presidential candidate. Why are you going to raise my taxes? Yes, the media vetted Joe the Plumber much more so than it has Barack the Presidential Candidate. You have seen this before in history.

The lesson here is that if you happen to encounter Mr. Obama in your neighborhood, just swoon as they do for dear leader in those other great countries. On the day that we cannot question our political leaders without fear of retribution from thugs and media sycophants, fascism replaces freedom in America. That is the trip we are on and most Americans, Obama sycophants included, will not like the destination once we arrive.

There are a lot of Joe’s out here in the forgotten lands. Do you reckon they don’t understand that? Or, do you reckon they just don’t care. Senator Joebama Biden says there are no plumbers in his neighborhood that are making 250 grand a year. Could it be that no plumbers at all live in his neighborhood – in million dollar plus homes? Maybe he means the plumbers he talks to down at Katie’s in Wilmington. The Katie’s he claims to frequent that closed in 1986. Or, maybe he talks to them on his trips down to the Home Depot where he often goes to hang out with the ordinary Joes. If Joebama were scrutinized as thoroughly as Plumber Joe was, he would have been laughed off the stage by now.

Plumber Joe reinforced for me that unless you are a Beltway insider either political or pundit, you are unwelcome into discussions that affect your daily life. Not unlike the treatment received by Governor Palin. You peasants are just not equipped to handle such complicated issues as choosing where and with what entity to share your wealth. Not even those Beltway pundits who proclaim themselves conservative want you crashing that ruling class country club. After all, there might be some dirt under your fingernails. And, the sweatshirts and jeans that are the working clothes of ordinary Joes do not blend well with the tailored suits, manicured nails and hair plugs of the Joebama class.

How about spreadin’ the wealth. From the tax information made public, I have willingly spread much more of mine than Joebama has of his. Do you know what got us into the economic mess that we are in now? Spreadin’ the wealth did. The age-old American dream is to own a home with a two-car garage and have the typical American family of 2 .5 kids and a dog. It is a dream that we were once taught in America to achieve by working hard for it. When you replace the dream that one achieves through hard work with a dream realized through the application of the socialist ideal of spreading the wealth the outcome is an economic collapse. Socialist ideals fail wherever they are attempted. Period.

If you believe that Senator Obama is going to give a tax break to 95 percent of Americans, then I have a bridge to nowhere to sale you. Around 40 percent of Americans do not pay any taxes now. Senator Obama is going to give the people who do not pay taxes a check. A check they never earned or paid in taxes that is covered by people who did earn it and pay taxes on it. I have no problem with people of certain incomes not paying taxes, but giving them money they did not earn or pay in taxes is not a tax break. That is redistribution of wealth. That is the most basic tenet of Socialism. I believe it was Karl Marx or maybe it was another liberal icon (some of you who are more learned may comment) that pointed out that socialism is the bridge between capitalism and communism.

On Election Day you should vote for the future you want. I intend to remain free in MY country.

Angry? Who, me?

Sunday, October 12th, 2008

J. D. Pendry

Mob mentality? Racist? This I hear from the people who have never had a decent or kind word to say about any African-American who holds conservative views. From this foul-mouthed morally deficient garbage who viciously slanders a pregnant seventeen-year-old girl and her mother, I am now called racist for questioning the character of their chosen one. These people wonder aloud why a mother would not abort a Down syndrome baby. I love these selfless and thoughtful attitudes. This collection of reprobates believes that race and gender counts only if the woman is like Madonna or the man some foul-mouthed Ludacris like thug rapper.

I do not like to share much of my private life, but just for the record, I have been one-half of an interracial marriage for going on 36 years. The two men I count as most influential in my 28 years in the Army were a Puerto Rican First Sergeant named Pedro Olivari and a Black Sergeant Major named Jim White. One thing I have learned about the left leaners is they like to project their personalities onto others. The most bigoted are the first to call others bigots. You possess no morals, no ethics and to use your favorite expression, no tolerance for someone whose beliefs differ from yours. So spare me.

They lament the dangers of second hand tobacco smoke and carbon fuel while tossing botched abortion babies into utility closets to die. Yes, I suppose that I am just a tad bit angry. I am angry that the greatest country on earth is being stolen by a morally relativist collection of complete idiots. They have a utopian mindset. Their utopia is one of moral relativism where if it feels good to you do it and virtually anything is acceptable. Their utopia has no higher moral standard to trump their absence of a moral standard. This is why God must be removed from public and private life. They expect me to support and pay for their utopia with my tax dollars. I have breaking news for them. I hereby declare my half acre of hillside its own country and appoint myself as benevolent dictator for life. I could make many improvements to my new country, including my new “green” bunker, with the tax dollars I donated to Fannie, Freddie and their enabling Democrat politicians. Patriots do not pay taxes to regimes they do not support. I expect the William Ayers branded public education system probably removed the lessons of the Boston Tea Party from the curriculum. The education system they hope will enable them to provide America with the change they believe in.

Maybe these intellectually superior people can answer some simple questions for an old country boy. Why does the great American propaganda machine, which is in case you might not be aware is the cabal of major American print and broadcast media, send a legion of dumpster diving Obama sycophants to Wasilla, Alaska yet does not provide anything factual or relevant about their savior except that he makes their legs all tingly. Never has a more dangerous scam been forced on to the American people than the fraud being perpetrated now. In America, I can and should question the character of the man who wants to lead us. Lord knows I was not kind to John McCain in the past when I mentioned my fears that he could be bad for the military. No one called me names for that. Character counts and when I am attacked and called racist for raising legitimate concerns of character and judgment, I am no longer in America. I am in the precursor to some fascist hellhole akin to North Korea or Saddam Hussein’s Iraq, but it is not America.

For eight years, all that we have heard from these purveyors of objective journalism is what a rotten no account scoundrel is George Bush. No mention of the absence of attacks since 9/11. No mention of the successes of our Warriors. Then they run panting to their keyboards to tell us that their polls show that only 39 percent of Americans approve of him. They forget to mention, however, that their version of utopia is led by a left wing Congress that 90 percent of Americans count as a complete failure. They forget to tell us about Barney Frank and his gay lover who worked over at Fannie Mae while Barney was on the Banking Committee. They do not talk about Chris Dodd getting sweetheart mortgage deals and the most campaign funds of anyone from Fannie. They do not point out that Obama is number two on the all-time list of recipients of Fannie campaign dollars. They do not think anything of impeached federal judge, now Congressman Alcee Hastings saying that Governor Palin would not care what she does to Jews or Blacks. No one noticed that Louis Farrakhan, the leader of the Nation of Islam, called Obama the messiah. They do not point out the painfully obvious, which is that the only difference between Bill Ayers and Timothy McVeigh is the body count. They do not talk about Obama’s almost 20-year relationship with ACORN and its direct links to the mortgage and banking meltdown and nationwide voter fraud and that it was paid 800 thousand dollars by him to work for his campaign. No one points out that skewed and fraudulent voter registrations also skew the poll results taken by the pollsters who rely on voter registration lists, which is just another piece of a well-crafted propaganda campaign.

Ayers, Rezko, Odinga, Wright, Davis, ACORN… none of those political alliances matter, but a pregnant seventeen-year-old and a disabled American Warrior who cannot use a computer now those are real issues.

Angry? No not yet, but I am getting there.

Undecided…

J. D. Pendry

I know who I am voting for. Do you?

I hope not to offend anyone. Well, maybe I do. Sometimes you need to hit someone in the forehead with a piece of dimension lumber before you get their attention. I never did appreciate it when people appeared in front of the cameras a few days after they called America’s Warriors Nazis and said, gee, if anyone was offended by what I said I apologize. If you said it during a hissy fit of anger, you meant it. You believed it. You should have spine enough to stand up for it. Words matter. What comes out of a politician’s mouth is not always the best reflection of who he is except for those angry tongue slips or the times when he believed no one was listening. It is those times and those words that opens the window to their character and bares their souls.

As we near America’s day of reckoning (A.K.A. Election Day), which is only a few days away, I am asked to believe that there are great numbers you out there who do not know who you will vote for. The great undecided mass, I am told and asked to accept, will choose the leader of the free world based on debate performances or whatever is offered up to them in the political ads during the latter days of the current edition of our perpetual political campaigns. If this is true, and I have never accepted that it is, then I have to tell you that the great undecided mass is too stupid to vote. Sorry, that is just the way I see it. At this stage, if you have not studied each candidate for yourself and you are relying on political ads, media spin doctors and debates to help you choose, you are stupid. You are also dangerous. It is you who stands to bring down the world’s last best hope by putting the wrong person in charge of it. You cannot blame it on the politician you choose because it will be you that made the choice.

Do not believe the polls that we are forced fed every day. Depending on who is leading in the multitude of them, one side or the other will be sure to tell you they do not matter. That is not what you need to understand about polls. Pollsters are paid by people with agendas. Be especially wary of the ones that are paid for by media organizations. Those I trust the least of all. Polls are used as a political tool. They are used to convince you to either vote for someone or to convince you that your candidate has already lost so there is no point in you wasting your time voting. Polls are just another of those dangerous games played in our country to influence the people who are otherwise too stupid to vote. Keep in mind that the most accurate pollsters work for the political organizations. You do not hear the results of their internal polls.

The other thing out there to be wary of are the neurotics. Unfortunately, the most dangerous of those neurotics have national and local audiences that listen to them daily. Often, in that audience, are people hoping to be told what to do. The neurotics will tell you that candidate A will destroy our country as we know it. Then he will sigh and lament how he just cannot bring himself to vote for candidate B. Even though A or B will be the president on January 20, 2009, Mr. Neurotic says he will either just stay home or vote for C, D, or E. He considers himself pure in his political persuasion. A political purity he cannot compromise no matter the outcome for the rest of us. Preservation of his self-proclaimed political virtue, in his mind, is more important than preserving America. Hardly a selfless view is it? Let me say this. God gave us one perfect man to lead us. We promptly flayed him and nailed him up to a tree. Since then, he has provided us with imperfect humans from which to choose a leader and a reminder that we have, at least for now, the freedom to either choose one or to sit on the sidelines and carp about not getting the perfect one - again.

Evaluate your choice as you please. But, take a serious look. Take a hard look at the lives of the candidates. Their political and ideological alliances will tell you who they are. Vote for the one you like. For our great American economy we have choices. We can have a free market system with laws and standards to protect us from politicians and crooks. We can have socialism that makes us and our economy dependent on Washington’s nincompoops. Or, we can have the system that will not work and has recently demonstrated that to us. It is the hybrid one that layers socialist principles onto a free market. Vote for the candidate that will provide the system that you like. Just be prepared to accept the consequences that come with your choice.

It matters less to me who someone votes for than it does that the choice made is an informed one. It is difficult to cut through all of the crap. I realize that, but America is worth the effort. I have shut down the talk radio, most news and I switch channels when the latest greatest political ad pops up. I suggest you may want to do the same. Spend some time studying the candidates for yourself. You will not have to invest much time to learn what you need to know. If you are not willing to do that then do America a favor and stay home on November 4.

Dear Congress, media, assorted Hollywood nitwits, and beltway bandits and pundits of all brands:

Saturday, October 4th, 2008

J. D. Pendry

I am that segment of America you all currently call Main Street. I am as Middle America as middle gets. I have much more than blue collar roots. Well at least you could see Dad’s blue collar, rest his black lung racked soul, when he shook the coal dust out of it. I also did some time on the factory floor in Chicago before enlisting in the Army. There was no community organizer pretending to look out for me.

Life is not always easy out here where people live a real life, but most of us wouldn’t trade it for anything else that the rest of the world, including the alternate universes you live in, has to offer us. Your universe? That is where the basic principles of honor and morality were discarded long ago – replaced by self-adulation. You lie to one another; you lie to us and worst of all you, with relative ease, you can look at your image in the mirror and lie to yourselves - all for the sake of political power, some self-perceived prestige or some utopian ideology that history has repeatedly proven a failure.

I am not the Joe Six-pack you envision. I know you better than you know yourselves and that of course will ultimately lead to your end. For us intellectually deficient out here that name just calls up an image of someone who is quite average, but I know what you see when you use it. That term of elitist endearment gives you an image of some pot bellied guy, wandering out of the liquor store with a 12 pack of beer, lottery tickets and half his butt crack sticking out from his jeans. Mr. Six-pack is your guy. He didn’t work today or most days because you extended his unemployment insurance. Your bus will pick him up on Election Day and you will give him a carton of smokes, promises of more of my money and maybe even a mortgage he can’t pay back for his vote. I don’t know what other images you get in your mind whenever you refer to me and the many millions like me who happen to populate this great land with one of those expressions you use to demonstrate just how in touch with us you really are. Your actions lead me to believe that you see a pathetic imbecile that cannot survive without your grand intervention, a collection of bitter, uneducated people clinging to guns and Bibles.

Maybe I should offer you another image. I go to work every day. I provide goods and services that people want and need. I get grease and dirt beneath my fingernails turning the wrenches that keep our great and free country chugging steadily along. I serve in the Police Departments, Fire Departments and Armed Forces of my country. I do many other necessary jobs that are probably well beneath your oversized egos and those prestigious educations of which you are so proud. I pay taxes. You waste them. I pay your salary by reading what you write, watching the movies you make and tuning in to the nightly propaganda productions you call objective journalism. If I contributed as little to my country materially and socially as you do, I could not earn a living out here in the real America. Neither could you. Your product, your Washington Speak and Hollywood nonsense have become quite stale. Imagine a place where a Barbara Walters enabled Whoopi Goldberg can call someone else stupid and you have the center of your universe.

In the past few weeks, we have come to know you even better. You have always tried to use class warfare to gain political power. Always pretending that you actually give a rat’s rear end about Joe Six-pack living on Main Street, Middle America. No, Joe and everyone representative of Joe are just stage props for you. When you take off the tie, roll up your shirt sleeves being careful to not drop the cuff links, and walk the rope line talking pap about how deeply you feel Joe’s pain, it does not convince anyone that you are like us. When you media types, Hollywood nitwits, Beltway pundits and bandits dedicate all of your time trying to convince yourselves that the only way one from our working class could ever enter the Whitehouse is on a tour or with the janitorial crew then you have the class war you have always sought.

We’ll see you on Election Day.

Joe
