Breaking the Chinese Flu Blues

J. D. Pendry

I’m tired of hearing and reading about the Covid-19 Virus.  I am ready to be over the daily Fauci report.  I don’t trust the man, but that’s just me.  Could be his raspy voice or his varying presentations depending on which TV channel he’s on.  His Bill Gates Bromance.  Most likely though, it’s the weaseliness.  That usually does it for me.  Or it’s that Fauci wants to keep this going until the vaccine he and Gates invested in comes around.

TV News opens with Jaws music.  The Coronavirus Pandemic. BOOM, BOOM, BOOM, BOOM! Makes you feel like you’re being walked up to the guillotine.  Everyone is saying we need more stuff only to say a few days later we got too much stuff.  We deployed our massive Hospital ships, converted conference centers into temporary hospitals, deployed Army Field Hospitals, Samaritan’s Purse put up a hospital.  Some evidence showing them practically empty.  Me?  I’m looking for the ground invasion force.  Must be one coming.

When the populace panics a little, the nation survives.  But when the Government panics based on questionable information, all bets are off.  We were told in the United States 2.4 million will die.  Nope, we meant only a quarter of a million.  Well, really, we think it’s going to be much less than predicted.  Maybe 60,000 now. But brace yourself, the next two weeks are going to be like Armageddon.  They’d have to be to reach the 60 thousand goal.  Well we are in that period and are sitting around 15,000.  That’s a lot, but it’s better than a typical flu season.  Which has never shut down the country and put millions out of work.  Don’t worry however, they’ll all line up and explain how their grand plan saved millions and how fortunate we are that Trump stayed out of their way.  For all the back slapping that’s going to happen they’ll need to be double jointed.  Eh, what do I know, the Hillbilly son of a Coal Miner?

Either someone isn’t telling the truth or are playing with prediction models to make it appear much worse than it ever could be.  There are well-known doctors out there claiming that a ventilator is not the correct treatment.  Other well-known doctors are saying our entire approach to this virus is wrong.  Saying we should protect our elderly and those endangered due to co-morbid conditions and let the virus run it’s course like is done with every other virus.

Wear masks don’t wear masks.  But you don’t need a professional mask, just watch the Facebook lady show you how to make one out of a sock.  Preferably a clean sock.  Masks won’t stop you from getting the virus, they tell us, but they’ll keep you from giving it to someone else.  I do have a pertinent mask question.  If I’m standing outside the grocery store all masked up on my mark 6 feet behind the bonehead puffing out clouds of vapor over the rest of us.  Can I taser that guy?  So, if you’re sitting out here with me, peeking through the window blinds every now and again to see if it’s daylight or dark, which doctors and assorted TV experts am I supposed to believe?

Here’s the cure for the Chinese Flu Blues.  Give up worrying about it, stop watching every expert, every media talker, and every politician and hand it over to the One who will lead us through.  The One who questioned: “Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?” Matthew 6:27

This is the perfect time of the year to reflect on the good we have.  A time to realize God created all that our human senses can detect.  Consider the renewal that comes with Spring.  Beauty the likes of which man can never match or improve upon.

God also sent his Son to save a fallen world.  On Palm Sunday, Jesus entered Jerusalem knowing what lay ahead for him.  On Monday he cleared the Temple of corrupt money changers.  On Tuesday Judas Iscariot agreed to betray Jesus to the Sanhedrin.   On Thursday, Jesus had the Last Supper with His disciples after which, He went with them to the Garden of Gethsemane where He prayed to God the Father.  Later he was betrayed with a kiss by Judas and was arrested.  On Friday, Jesus became sin for us.  He took God’s Judgment for our Sins, was brutally beaten, crucified and died on the Cross.  On Sunday, he was raised from the dead giving all humankind victory over death and hope for salvation, and eternal life.

Turn off the Chinese Flu blues by realizing that Jesus came into a dark world to save it.  He left light where there was darkness.  Count on Him and He will again lead our fallen world out of the darkness.
